Terms of Use
These terms explain the permitted use of Stagemonitor, the responsibilities that remain with the production operator, and the limits of the service.

1. Agreement and provider
These Terms of Use apply to the Stagemonitor macOS application and this website. Stagemonitor is provided by the developer identified in its Mac App Store listing. By downloading or using Stagemonitor, you agree to these Terms.
The Apple Standard End User License Agreement also applies to the app and is incorporated here by reference. These Terms supplement that agreement.
2. License and permitted use
Subject to these Terms and the Apple agreement, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Stagemonitor for lawful live-production, rehearsal, event, broadcast, and related professional or personal purposes on devices you are permitted to use.
You may not copy, rent, sell, sublicense, redistribute, reverse engineer, bypass technical protections in, or create derivative works from the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
3. Your productions and content
You retain ownership of cue titles, notes, project files, and other content you create. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights to use that content and that it is accurate, lawful, and appropriate to share with displays and network receivers.
You are responsible for maintaining suitable backups of project files. Autosave is a convenience and is not a substitute for your own backup and recovery procedures.
4. Live-production responsibility
Do not rely on the app as the sole means of protecting people, property, critical infrastructure, broadcast continuity, or contractual timing. Maintain appropriate human oversight, communication channels, clocks, cue sheets, and fallback procedures.
Timers, displays, and network video can be delayed, interrupted, unavailable, or inaccurate because of device load, sleep, power loss, network conditions, software defects, or third-party components. The production operator remains responsible for all show decisions and cues.
5. Network access and security
You decide when to start network services and are responsible for the Mac, firewall, router, VPN, and network on which they run. Public timer sharing uses unencrypted HTTP and does not authenticate viewers. Use it only on trusted networks and do not place confidential information in public cue titles.
The public web display is intentionally limited to read-only timer data; it is not a channel for sharing the full rundown, department notes, or timer controls.
6. NDI and third-party software
Some distributions may include NDI® output using software from Vizrt NDI AB. NDI streams are not authenticated or encrypted by Stagemonitor, and an NDI group is not an access-control boundary. You are responsible for the selected view, receiver environment, and network exposure.
Third-party licenses and notices supplied with the app apply to their respective components. NDI is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB. See ndi.video for more information.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Stagemonitor to:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- gain unauthorized access to a device, production, or network;
- interfere with, overload, probe, or disrupt systems you do not own or control; or
- remove legal notices or use third-party marks in a misleading way.
8. Updates, availability, and termination
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the app, maintain compatibility, address security or legal requirements, or reflect third-party availability. Feature availability may vary by app version and distribution channel.
Your license ends if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and third-party terms—survive termination.
9. Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stagemonitor is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect timing, or compatibility with every network, display, NDI receiver, or production setup.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost revenue, productions, recordings, data, opportunities, or goodwill arising from use of or inability to use Stagemonitor. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
10. Governing terms and contact
The governing-law and dispute provisions in the applicable App Store terms apply, together with any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
